ABOUT:

Ever popular vintage diamond tennis bracelet in yellow gold. This one is crafted in 14k with a sturdy hand feel holding 40 diamonds including the ones on the hidden clasp. It was sold to me as 8 carats, but I am getting about 7 carats total (without measuring each individual stone) so I'm listing it as that to be on the conservative side.

I usually go for old cut diamonds but these classic tennis bracelets are just so sparkly and wearable and lovely in a stack so I sometimes carry vintage pieces when they are so versatile and timeless like this. The 40 diamonds are the older brilliant cuts, not as old as old mine, European or transitional cuts, but older brilliant cuts made before modern technology so it is definitely vintage.

This is a nice one in that the fabrication doesn't allow it to roll on the wrist, so the diamonds are always sparkling face up. In a slightly longer length as well.

It comes as pictured in a vintage box from my collection.

It has a push button hidden clasp along with two latches that clip closed on either side to make sure the clasp can never open on its own. Always nice when these valuable pieces have the additional safety measures. It is stamped on the back of the clasp 14k.

The forty diamonds are in a slightly chubby depth-wise four pronged setting. The backs of each diamond setting are square with a nice height off the wrist. Just a versatile ready to wear staple.

Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

MEASUREMENTS:

7 3/8 inches in length end to end not including the insert of the clasp.
The diamonds are about 3.5mm each, give or take, a few at 3.4mm and a few at 3.6mm but overall well matching to the eye since we are talking about a fraction of a millimeter. Total carat weight of around 7 carats.
Depths of the settings are 5.2mm off the wrist with the square bases of the gold work underneath.
Weight is a sturdy 20.7 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The forty vintage diamonds have natural variances which is expected since there are 40 of them : ). There is a small carbon speck here or there, a handful of stones have frosty inclusions that make some of the stones appear frosty overall and others have a large smattering of crystal in one area of the stone. They range in clarity from SI to I with a few VS but the majority have some frosty specks to be found. Three diamonds have a lovely yellow hue but again seen more under lit magnification than while wearing because the stones aren't huge individually and the entire piece is in yellow gold which provides that glow around all the stones anyway. So there are slightly varying hues. No large or glaring inky spots. A worn prong here or there but the prongs are quite chubby so all the diamonds are still surrounded. A few of the stones move the slightest bit and one by the clasp sits lower below the prongs. They are all secure because the prongs are chunky on each of the 4 sides of the stones but something to keep an eye on over time, especially on pieces with so many stones. Beautiful as alone or in a wriststack.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
