I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
Timeless vintage transitional cut diamond stud earrings in 18k gold and platinum. The pronged settings each hold about a .35 carat transitional cut diamond (0.7 carat total for the pair). The ear posts and base of the earrings are in 18k yellow gold, with the prongs in platinum as was often customary to set diamonds in a white metal.
The setting is fun with the prongs making a little crown like basket around the diamonds.
Found in France. The push back are stamped 750, the numerical hallmarking system used in Europe for 18k gold along with the Alpa Mecan maker's marks.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos with the zoom pictures I am required to present.
MEASUREMENTS:
The diamonds are each about 4.2mm, each about .35 carat with a total diamond weight of around 0.7 carat for the pair. This is an estimate as I do not remove stones from antique settings for exact measurements and I could not get an exact depth on the stones as they are set.
The pair weighs 1.45 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical vintage diamonds with natural inclusions. They each have some frosty and carbon specks smattering throughout. These inclusions are eye visible if you are seeking them out but they face up white, have a nice sparkle and don't appear dingy or yellow. The carbon is small so as not to be glaring, nor to jump out as a large ink spot etc. But they are definitely on the frosty side.
The push button alpa pushbacks function but aren't super tight so I wouldn't recommend for 24/7 wear as they do not latch in, although any other pushbacks from other earrings in your jewelry box could probably be swapped in. The stones are well set.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
