ABOUT:
My MHA peeps know I tend to carry mostly older pieces But! I always carry what I like, and this one... I like. It's got a retro vibe with the thick and sturdy bypass shoulders leading to the 3/4 carat emerald cut diamond which is set at an angle for a fun asymmetry and movement.
BUT the main reason I bought this one is because the diamond is exceptional. Bright white and crystal clear. A really fine stone. It is completely eye clean and even studying it under very strong magnification there is really nothing to detect. It's a beautiful stone.
Crafted in platinum with a quality hand feel. I think it looks great in a mixed metal stack. I also have a chevron diamond band that this nests well with. My dealer friend who I bought it from (she's the best) put me on to the idea of pairing them and I really love it. For those of us who love stacking. It would also make a unique, one of a kind engagement/ wedding set, as sometimes with asymmetrically shaped solitaires, it can be hard to find pieces they stack well with.
In excellent, ready for daily wear condition. The emerald cut being one of the step cut methods - giving the stone a great geometry and a hall of mirrors effect when looking through the stone.
There's a maker's mark "Delco" inside and it is stamped 950 for platinum.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It sits between a 6 1/4 and 6 1/2 - so 6 3/8. It weighs 5.25 grams.
The diamond is 6.1mmx4.8mm. Sold to me as .75 carat. Without removing it and by plugging it into a calculator, I am getting a little over that (about .78).
The ring face is 10.3mm wide north to the south on the finger and it stands 6.6mm tall off the finger.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Zero damage to the diamond. Zero eye visible inclusions. A few teensy tiny specks under strong magnification only if anything. Bright white color, a very fine stone in a sturdy, ready to wear setting. This is one that can be worn 24/7 or in heavy rotation.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
