ABOUT:
Love the colors of this gemmy vintage station chain. This gorgeous necklace is crafted in 14k gold and set with 88 natural rubies, and pink and purple sapphires. The stones are small so the gemstones appear pretty uniform in color while wearing, but under lit magnification, you can see the varying hues to the gems which run all the way around in their bezel settings. Some of them are old cuts, some more purple, some a softer pink, others a more vibrant pink.
Nice longer length at 24.5 inches. I can actually fit it wrapped multiple times around my wrist for wear as a bracelet, or wrapped double around my neck as a short choker (may need the help of an extender depending on size.)
Fabulous and versatile piece to wear layered to add color or alone. It has a clasp on one end which allows for easier styling.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 6.9 grams. It's 24 1/2 inches long.
The stones are each 1.8 to 2.1mm give or take.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical gems with varying inclusions including frosty and milky spots and color variations. Some inclusions carry up to the surface. No cracked gems but there are some chips and nibbles mostly to the undersides as the pavilions of the stones extend out the back varying amounts so that is where we see most of the wear. All the stones are stable and held by their bezels and with normal wear this is not really evident as they fill the marquise bezel spaces, I had to study each stone to seek this out but with so many vintage gems in one piece we expect to see this with wear.
Note that with the way the stones crop out the back of the bezels, the necklace doesn't lie perfectly flat and facing out at all times. This is how it was intended and how it was made - not to lie flat but to allow you to see the entire shape of the gemstones while wearing so it can flip and roll but always with the beautiful color evident.
Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and flow, but it appears darker in color with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
