ABOUT:
Of all the ring requests I receive, the diamond cluster is the one in highest demand. And this is quite a fine one as it is strikingly bright white in color with 11 vintage diamonds totaling around 1 carat total weight. Amazing glitter factor in shiny 18k white gold.
The center stone is an antique Old European cut diamond. It is surrounded by a halo of older brilliant cut diamonds with one additional at each raised shoulder. These are not old Euros as there are no open culets and they have more modern faceting but they have frosted girdles compared to the polished ones of present day. A timeless classic with exceptional sparkle factor.
French hallmark for 18k gold to the knife edge shank, it is partial but recognizable as I have seen it thousands of times. Partial goldsmith stamp as well.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 3/4
The center diamond is about 4mm. The eight outlining diamonds and the two in the shoulders are about 2.7mm each give or take. I do not remove the stones from the setting for exact carat weight but estimates to around 1 carat total weight in diamonds.
Ring face: 10.5mm diameter
Height off finger: 6.5mm tall.
Weight: 3.1g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical vintage & antique diamonds with some faint frosty inclusions, one stone appears quite frosty all the way through, everything else is just a very slightly visible speck here or there. They are bright white in color so this one really pops. No damage to any of the diamonds.
A few worn prongs as expected for age but each stone is held securely on multiple sides and none of the stones move. The largest antique center stone is extra sturdy, set with long prongs on all sides. It is the smaller stones that show a bit of wear to the outlining prongs.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
