ABOUT:
An elegant, French vintage solitaire ring with an eye clean antique old mine cut diamond in a classic setting. The one carat plus chunky old cut diamond is set in the timeless pronged 18k gold setting with substantial domed shoulders leading up to the ring face.
While the piece is at least vintage, the old mine cut diamond is older and antique. I'm not exactly sure when the piece was made as the French don't use dated hallmarks but it is everything you could want in a solitaire. It measures around 1 to 1.1 carats with the cushioned old mine cut diamond suspended in tall prongs to make the stone appear even larger by bringing it closer to the beholder. The beautiful old cut diamond has a beautiful sparkle and is eye clean. Adding to its appeal, the prongs are holding the diamond securely on all sides in this very sturdy setting, making this beauty ready for daily wear.
Makes a timeless engagement ring, adds sparkle to a ring stack. It layers really wonderfully with other pieces.
Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 7 1/4
Ring face: 7.7mm tall off the finger.
Weight: 4.5g.
The diamond is about 6.4 by 5.8mm. It was sold to me at 1 to 1.1 carat which aligns with my measurements. This is an estimate as I would not remove the stone from the setting for exact measurements and the exact depth is not measurable in the setting.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Sturdy piece, ready to wear.
No damage to the stone or setting and the diamond is eye clean which can be hard to find in antique stones that were hand cut in much more limited supply than the millions of carats produced each year now. It's a wonderful antique stone with a nice and chunky cut. No really noticeable warmth to it. In a ready to wear, sleek and glowing 18k gold setting.
A fun one to layer and stack.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
