ABOUT:
So pretty the colors on this one! A French vintage chain with numerous gemstones in bezel settings all the way around. With 71 gemstones it totals at least 25 carats!
Longer in length to be worn single and long or doubled and short around the neck. It has a spring ring clasp so you have the option of slipping it over the head or opening it and wrapping it around the neck. It also fits me wrapped multiple times around the wrist (if you want to double check the measurements as we all come in wonderfully different shapes and sizes).
Such beautiful hues to the natural gemstones including amethyst in pale lavender / lilac to richer purple hues alternating with pale pink rose quartz and clear / white topaz.
With the stones all around it really catches the light and sparkles while wearing. The chain has a 3D effect in the the stones are set in bezels that allow the pavilions to crop out the back. So the stones can swivel and rotate while wearing with an all around view of the entire stone. When you look through the stones they have star faceting like looking into a kaleidoscope: )
Props and additional items not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 11.2 grams. It is a little over 27.5 inches. Each of the gems are about 4.5 to 5mm each and 5.4mm in diameter in the dainty bezel settings. They are 3 to 3.5mm deep.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
No notable damage to the chain. The gems still have very nice sheen and polish and a gorgeous color that can even emit sparkle. It's beautiful to wear. Note that with the way the stones crop out the back of the bezels, the necklace doesn't lie perfectly flat and facing out at all times. This is how it was intended and how it was made - not to lie flat but to allow you to see the entire shape of the gemstones while wearing.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
