ABOUT:
Ever popular diamond cluster ring and this one really brings the sparkle, with fiery stones above and beyond many I have carried in the past. I was just blown away by the glitter it shoots from the nine stones when I was shooting it. It's a wow in sunlight.
This is an older vintage period ring with brilliant cut diamonds cut earlier than our modern brilliants today. They are not transitional, but the earlier brilliant cuts with frosted girdles, cut in line with the methods used over 65 years ago.
Classic setting, crafted and hallmarked for 18k Gold and platinum. The shank is yellow gold with platinum applied to the shoulders and with a platinum ring face for contrast.
Found in the UK with their hallmarks.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 8
The center diamond is about 4.6mm. The eight outlining diamonds are about 3.2mm each give or take. I do not remove the stones from the setting for exact carat weight but estimates to around 1.45 carat total weight in diamonds.
Ring face: 11.5mm diameter
Height off finger: 5.5mm tall.
Weight: 2.75g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical vintage diamonds with some faint frosty inclusions, no carbon and no damage, just a very slightly visible speck here or there. Center stone has a warmth to it, the palest yellow hue under magnification but faces up brighter. Varying warmth to the outlining stones but they are smaller so it is less noticeable and the piece as a whole is well matching.
Three worn outside edge prongs as expected for age but each stone is held securely on multiple sides and none of the stones move. The largest antique center stone is extra sturdy, set with long prongs on all sides. It is the smaller stones that show a bit of wear to the outlining prongs.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
