ABOUT:
This one carat vintage solitaire ring with accents really stands out in terms of quality. For those of you looking for a vintage or antique piece with character that is in like new condition (which is nearly impossible to find) - this is the one for you.
Everything about this piece is pretty excellent -
The diamond - eye clean
The prongs - excellent and ready for daily wear
The condition - not a single nick or chip to the diamond.
Exciting to find and with no concerns or qualms as to the authenticity of the piece because both the 1 carat transitional cut center stone and the little single cut side stones were cut before modern techniques with their telltale signs of being cut in the old style.
Beautiful pinwheel design to the faceting of the crystal clear natural diamond. I might need to rephotograph it cuz the pics just aren't doing it justice.
The shank is a bright and gleaming 14k yellow gold, the ring head is in contrasting white gold as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6. But sizable with good prongs.
The diamond measures 6.4mm and is just a shade over one carat. The side stones are a little over 2mm each and add to that carat weight.
The piece weighs 2.55 grams.
CONDITION NOTES:
How exciting for me to be lamenting the fact that my listings take me foreverrrrr to provide all the detail (insert laughing emoji here), and then I come to this one with very little to say in terms of flaws, quirks, wear, etc. It's wonderful! The old cut diamond is completely eye clean. Slightest warmth but nothing noticeable. Setting is excellent, no damage anywhere. The shank feels a bit blunt at the edge if I'm being super picky. Can't go wrong with this one.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
