Vintage Seven 7 Carats Natural Old Mine Cut Diamond Bezel Set Eternity Station Chain French 18k White Gold Necklace 23.75" Long Neckstack

Egads, are old cut diamond chains hard to find. But I found one on my last sourcing trip! Holding 44 natural antique old mine cut diamonds totaling seven carats in all. They are each bezel set and interspersed between oval and bar links. The stones and settings rotate every other to provide pattern and sparkle all the way around the chain.

Longer length at 23.75 inches. I can actually fit it wrapped multiple times around my wrist for wear as a bracelet, or wrapped double around my neck as a short choker (may need the help of an extender depending on size.)

Fabulous and versatile piece to wear layered to add sparkle or alone, or as a pretty fab pendant holder. It has a clasp on one end which allows for easier styling. Every single stone has the open culet and freeform wonderfulness of old cut diamonds. It's possible the piece is Art Deco period but the chain style is not super telling as far as age, so it may be a later vintage piece using the antique stones. The way they are all freeform and not uniform in size or shape makes me wonder if maybe the stones were salvaged from something else and turned into a necklace during the vintage period? Pretty amazing craftsmanship with each bezel having to be sized to accommodate the various shapes and sizes of the antique diamonds.

Found in Paris, France. It has the numerical stamp used in Europe for 18k gold (it is white gold) and I tested it in multiple places as well.

Props and additional items not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 10.7 grams. It's 23 3/4 inches long.
The stones vary as mentioned and I would never remove them for an exact weight. The largest stone measures 5mm and is a little over half a carat, and there are a few others in the .3 to 35 carat range but most are smaller in the .1 to .2 carat range (3 to 4mm each), a handful smaller and a handful larger than that.
With 44 stones in all it totals around 7 carats of antique old mine cut diamonds. This is an estimate having measured each stone while set, attempting to measure only the exposed portions as we can't see the girdle edges with each stone being bezel set.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some faint frosty inclusions, slightly varying hues. Nothing really glaring, none appear lifeless or dingy, none have large inky carbon spots or distracting inclusions. There are some faint frosty spots and a tiny carbon speck here and there but it is not seen by the eye as the stones aren't that large in size. One stone has a chip of loss that appears like a notch to the girdle. It's one of the smaller diamonds towards the back side. Because it is surrounded by a bezel, it is not really seen while wearing and the stone is still well held. None of the stones move and all appear to be well surrounded in their bezels.

Note that with the way the stones crop out the back of the bezels, the necklace doesn't lie perfectly flat and facing out at all times. This is how it was intended and how it was made - not to lie flat but to allow you to see the entire shape of the gemstones while wearing so it can flip and roll but always with the beautiful sparkle evident. The side views of the chunky old cuts are a fun sight to behold.

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and flow, but it appears darker in color with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
