ABOUT:
I love stackable bands and this one with the four prongs between each stone even adds a bit of texture to a stack the way the full outlines of the stones appear amidst the glowing 18k gold.
I typically go for antiques but this one is so bright and sparkle and fun to wear. The seven white / colorless brilliant cut diamonds splay out to span the top of the finger. Looks beautiful in a stack.
These are the older brilliant cuts with the more modern brilliant cut faceting but still with the frosted girdle showing they weren't cut using today's methods.
Found in France with their hallmarks 18k gold and a worn goldsmith stamp.
Currently measures about a size 5 1/2 and up some. It currently has a spring loaded insert inside the band, meant to serve as a somewhat adjustable shank - this is intended for arthritic knuckles, to slide over the larger knuckle and still fit snugly at the skinnier base of the finger. I also see these on rings to keep the ring face facing up so they don't spin around. This can be flexed to make the ring fit a bit smaller, as it holds on to the back of the finger the way it is spring loaded. If it were to be removed (easily done by any jeweler) it would fit a larger finger but I can't get an accurate measurement. I just decided to sell it as is in case someone would like the fit this way, or if the buyer intends to size the ring anyway, it would be no problem removing it then when the work is done. It's kinda nice as is because it can fit multiple fingers.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 4.1 grams.
Ring face is 4.7mm north south.
It stands 3.9mm tall off the finger.
The diamonds are each about 3mm so around 7 carat total weight give or take.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A few frosty spots, a tiny bit of hard to reach buildup behind the stones. The prongs are very blunt and can felt when you run your hand across it. This isn't a condition issue, it is just how it was made, but something to note as it can rub the adjacent fingers. Stacking does help with this. No real condition issues, it is quite striking to wear. And Ready for regular wear.
Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
