ABOUT:
A sweet figural heart ring with transitional cut diamond in the center. This one has older hallmarks and with the transitional cut being the cutting method of primarily the 1920s to the 1940s, that makes this ring a late antique early vintage period ring. My mother in law loved hearts and I love and miss her, so this one made me think of her. ; )
I think this was used as an engagement ring and was perhaps connected to a band because the inside edge of the back of the shank is beveled on one side.
The ring face serves as an illusion setting with the starburst setting and platinum top, making the diamond look bigger to even heart shaped.
A fun figural sweetie. Found in the UK with their hallmarks for 18k gold and platinum. It also has an old serial number inside.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 3/4.
The diamond is about 3.7mm. The ring face is 6.3mm north south and 4.6mm deep / tall off the finger.
The piece weighs 2.6grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The diamond is eye clean. The beveled edge of the shank is a bit blunt but not uncomfortable to wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
