XL Ornate Belle Epoque French Antique FLORAL Ring w/ Diamond ETERNITY Band Pearl Flowers Rose Cut 18k White Gold Art Nouveau Victorian

ABOUT:

This one could not be any more diamond encrusted, ornate or unique.  And the back is as interesting as the front!

Wonderful Belle Epoque era antique French ring with center pearl, and swirling ribbon / bow designs set with rose cut and single cut diamonds, with little forget me not flowers formed of diamonds on the north and south ends.  What also makes this piece unique is that the gorgeous ring face is affixed to a diamond eternity band, with diamonds all the way around the shank. 

Very uncommon to have the combination of such an ornate ring face combined with the diamond eternity band.

I do not know what stories this piece could tell.  I know the ring face is antique but there are some smoothed areas to the back of it.  It's possible it was a pin or brooch that was later converted to a ring?  The shank is crafted in 18k white gold while the ring face is in platinum.  No hallmarks remain.  

Textbook Art Nouveau design with open work swirls and large footprint on the finger.  Found in Paris. Beautiful form to this setting, highlighted by the sparkling diamonds around all aspects of the piece.

Antique boxes, props, mice, dishes ; ) not included.  Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

Large finger size, it is an 11 1/2.  At one shoulder there is a yellow gold weld, you can seek it out in photos. It is tidy and not glaring but I mention it because I would think theoretically, you could work with your local jeweler to remove some of the diamond settings in the shank to reduce the size of the ring, and just reconnect at that exact same weld point that is already there.  As the prongs of the eternity band are in excellent condition to hold the diamonds securely while reducing the size of the shank.  Best to discuss with the person doing the work to determine their comfort level though.  It would also make an excellent power pointer ring.

There are 25 diamonds in the eternity band each measuring about 1.7mm so about half a carat there.  The eight single cut diamonds creating the two flowers measure about 2.25mm each adding another .35 carat.  Plus all the little rose cuts in the bow area that are about 1 to 1.5mm each.

Ring face is 28mm north south by 13mm.  It weighs 4.4 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
See notes above about the weld on the shank that could be used for sizing.

Typical antique rose cuts, some a bit frosty from natural inclusions, the ones meeting each shoulder read a bit gray.  Varying hues and natural variations to the diamonds but a unique piece, certainly one of a kind with all over sparkle.  

The shank is a bit blunt when you run your hand across it from all the prongs holding the diamonds all the way around, this is just how it was made but since it is an eternity band, you can feel that against the adjacent fingers.  

Smoothed areas at the back of the ring face make me think that it might have had a brooch attachment?  I'm not sure but that area and the is also quite blunt if you rub your finger across it.  The underside of the ring face having some blunt edges.

So in that regard and due to it's ornateness it needs gentler wear as this one has no smooth or sleek edges, but rather all over gem encrusted sparkle and texture.  

The rose cuts are small, rough cuts with frosty edges, nicks, natural inclusions, likely have always been that way -  they are so small they were just meant to add a glint of sparkle.
