XL Victorian Antique BOOK CHAIN Extra Chunky 3D Gold Fill Heart Engraving Choker Necklace

Did you know that Mouse's House Antiques started out in Victorian sterling silver and then Victorian gold filled jewelry before transitioning to fine jewelry? So even though I don't do a lot of gold fill anymore now, I do have a fondness for it, especially when it comes to designs such as these.

Mega impact to this sturdy 3D gold filled Victorian chain with alternating links. The circular half spheres have little heart engravings with additional ornate designs around the sides. These alternate with the folded gold filled panels that catch the light and glimmer.

I purchased the piece at a jewelry store in Wisconsin near where I grew up, while accompanying my husband on a work trip and between visiting my cousins : ). I always seek out antiques even when traveling for fun or on vacation and this one was a pleasant surprise. I purchased several pieces from that store and just loved the fabulous design and coloring on this piece.

Antique box used for staging is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

No hallmarks, it is a gold fill item.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 52g. Very heavy hand feel. 16 1/2 inches end to end. The round links are 11mm wide and 5.5mm deep.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

There is wear to the gold fill to the underlying brass which is a warmer color but the antique patina is actually quite lovely with yellow, rosy and antique brass hues. Some discoloration to the back from age and wear. The spring ring functions but is not super springy. It does the job though. One of the folded gold links is a bit curved and a few have a small ding or ripple seen due to the mirrored finish.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
